Purewhiskey was founded by four friends with a wide range of skills, but one common love: whiskey. While we could leave it at that, we would like those who visit the site to know that Purewhiskey is a labor of that love. Not only do we treasure the spirit in all its forms, but we have a deep and abiding respect for the people, places and history that have made whiskey loved the world over. Where man has gone, whiskey has followed and so we at Purewhiskey will follow the trail of whiskey wherever it might lead.
Our primary goal is to give you an honest pour. At Purewhiskey, we promise to give you news and information about every facet of whiskey that is as good as we can make it and in good measure. We model our efforts on the distillery workers that grew up before the era of mechanization and who understand the process of making whiskey at every stage from grain to glass. As that process has steadily become more science than art, there are those who defend the old ways as if whiskey was of their own blood and who take a parental pride in their product. To be sure there are ever-fewer such craftsmen today, but at Purewhiskey we hope to honor their integrity by making their hard work, knowledge and pride the cornerstone of our editorial policy.
So join us as we raise our glasses to the men and women who put the whiskey in them–from farmers to coopers to distillery workers, delivery drivers to bartenders. We hope that Purewhiskey will be able to give something back to those who have worked so hard to give us so much pleasure and to you, our visitors, who no doubt love whiskey as much as we do.
